This year's Yale Day of Service takes place on May 11 and many alternate dates throughout the spring. Yalies wanting to give back for a few hours on a given day or even on multiple occasions can find a project and register through the YAA’s event calendar.

In the latest video of the Yale Alumni Unscripted series, Ethan Heard ’07, ’13 MFA talks about making connections at alumni events, the benefits of connecting with your local Yale Club, and his time with Yale Alumni College at the Glimmerglass Opera experience. 

Alison Cole ’99

Alison Cole ’99 has been named executive director of the Yale Alumni Association (YAA), which represents and serves more than 180,000 alumni worldwide from all Yale schools. Cole succeeds Weili Cheng ’77, who retired this year after leading the YAA since 2016. Cole starts in the new role on May 15, 2024.

The newly-created Air Force ROTC award, the Brigadier General Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse Wingman Spirit Award, is named after Yale alumnus and retired Brigadier General Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse II ’52, a World War II veteran and one of the last surviving members of the Tuskegee Airmen. It is also the first Yale ROTC award named after an alumni veteran of color.
